Army begins 2-week Training On Operationalising Newly Acquired TARES Mines Protective Vehicles

The Nigerian Army on Monday began a two-week training module for its personnel on the prerequisites and first hand knowledge of the newly acquired NA TARES Mines Protective Vehicles (MPV).

The training, which is holding at Headquarters Guards Brigade Auditorium Abuja, is being organised by the Army Headquarters Department of Army Training (DAT).

It is essentially to train Nigerian Army personnel and is part of efforts to enhanced operational effectiveness across the country.

In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour, the Chief of Training Army, Major General Sani Gambo Muhammed ably represented by the Director of Training at the DAT, Brigadier General Olushola Diya stated that the training is in line with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Command Philosophy, which is to “Transform the Nigerian Army into a Well-trained, Equipped and Highly Motivated Force Towards Achieving our Constitutional Responsibilities within a Joint Environment.”

He stated that the Nigerian Army has just acquired some TARES MPV which will aid it operations against insurgency and protect troops from explosions, ambushes and surprise attacks.

Major General Sani Muhammed urged the participants to take maximum advantage of the training to acquire knowledge on the modern equipment as it’s expected of them to impact same knowledge gained to their colleagues in their various formations.

Participants for the training were drawn from various Army units and formations across the country.
