Court Of Appeal Affirms PDP’s Natasha As Duly Elected Senator For Kogi Central, Governor Yahaya Bello’s District

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has been affirmed as the duly elected candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial Election of February 25, 2023.

Kogi Central is the Senatorial district of the outgoing Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.

Consequently, the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, which gave the ruling, on Tuesday, dismissed the appeal filed by Abubakar Ohere for lacking in merit.

The Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lokoja had in September nullified the victory of Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Kogi Central Senatorial Election.

The court further declared Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the actual winner of the February senatorial poll in the district.

The Tribunal had revealed that Senator Ohere’s results were inflated in nine polling units in the Ajaokuta Local Government Area, following which necessary corrections were made to give victory to Natasha.
