War Against Corruption: EFCC Arrests 5 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Makurdi

As part of its war against corruption, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday announced the arrest of five suspected internet fraudsters in Makurdi, Benue State capital.

According to a statement by EFCC Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, they were arrested earlier in the day “following credible intelligence.”

The statement reads: “Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested  five suspected internet fraudsters in the Makurdi metropolis, Benue State.

“They were arrested on Thursday, November 23, 2023 following credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related offences. The suspects are : Stanley Tochukwu, Desmond Tochukwu, Dennis Emeka, George Ebuka and Arinze Odo.

“Items recovered from the suspects are :  phones, power bank,  ATM cards and some cash.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
