Israel-Hamas War: ‘Cut Off The Lifeline To Israel,’ Iran’s Supreme Leader Sends Message To Middle East Leaders

  • Iran’s supreme leader has urged other Middle East nations to pressure Israel by severing economic and political ties with the country

Iran’s supreme leader has urged other Middle East nations to pressure Israel by severing economic and political ties with the country.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged Muslin governments to “cut off the lifeline” of Israel, the state-run IRNA news agency reported.

At a public meeting, he pushed countries to stop making statements in support of a ceasefire in Gaza.

“Sometimes the positions and statements of the officials of the Islamic countries are wrong, because they talk about an issue such as the ceasefire in Gaza, which is beyond their control,” he said.

He also called for Middle East countries to refrain from supporting Israel.

In recent months, the Houthis in Yemen, which are allied with Iran, have attacked ships in the region’s waterways that they say are either linked to Israel or heading to Israeli ports.

Other militant groups backed by Iran, such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza, have been involved in attacks on Israel since the conflict erupted on 7 October.
