Lingering Insecurity: ‘Step Aside If The Shoes Are Too Big For You,’ Atiku Tells Tinubu

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday berated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his failure to resolve the security crisis in the country.

Reacting to the recent surge in the kidnapping and killing of unsuspecting Nigerians across the nation, Atiku, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections wondered why President Tinubu embarked on a private visit to France amid the ravaging banditry and other security issues bedevilling the nation.

He recalled the killing of a nursing mother and her mum in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the murder of two monarchs in Ekiti State on Monday.

In a post via his X verified handle, Atiku wrote: “Tinubu is playing fiddle while Nigeria is drowning in the ocean of insecurity. Imagine that the Commander-in-Chief is on a so-called private visit.

“At the same time, kidnappers kill a nursing mother and grandmother in Abuja for failing to pay N90m ransom and two monarchs in Ekiti, among other regular tragedies besetting Nigerians.

“If the shoes are too big for Emilokan, he should step aside. Nigeria does not need another Tourist-in-Chief.

“The country needs 24/7 leadership to confront the pervasive insecurity and collapsing economy.”
