- Vice Chairman South, PDP Anambra, Onunkwo Ebere calls “on the government of Anambra State to investigate this kidnap and gruesome killing and make sure that the culprits are brought to justice.”
The Anambra State Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barrister Jude Oguejiofor, who was kidnapped last month by gunmen while on a routine visit to his country home in Orsumoghu, Ihiala Local Government Area has been killed.
Barrister Oguejiofor was kidnapped alongside his brother, a medical doctor, who was later freed unharmed by the gunmen.
Oguejiofor was among the 21-member Anambra PDP Caretaker Committee members announced by the National Working Committee of the party on January, 17 2024 and inaugurated subsequently. He had been practicing law for over 15 years and was the principal partner at Jude Oguejiofor & Co. Law Firm in Nnewi before his demise.
The PDP in Anambra State, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Promise Okongwu, said it “is pained by the brutality and despicable action of the assailants and posited that the legal luminary had contributed greatly to the progress and development of his community and State for which he was honoured with the title of Ositadimma Orsumoghu. The party therefore wondered what such a good man must have done to warrant cutting his life short under such terrible circumstance.
“The Anambra PDP insists that no human, not even an enemy deserves to die in such gruesome manner and thus demands that the Governor of Anambra State, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, should use the murder of Barr. Jude Oguejiofor as a standpoint to institute urgent measures to put an end to the insecurity ravaging the State, especially in Ihiala LGA.
“In the same vein, the Anambra State PDP directs all the 21 Local Government party offices in the State to lower their flags in honour of the slain Legal Adviser, while urging the party members and Ndi Anambra to put his grieving young family in their daily prayers.”
In the same vein, Onunkwo Ebere, the Vice Chairman South, PDP Anambra, while mourning the sudden death of Barrister Oguejiofor, called “on the government of Anambra State to investigate this kidnap and gruesome killing and make sure that the culprits are brought to justice.”
