Nigerian Military Declares Professor, 7 Others Wanted Over Murder Of 17 Soldiers In Okuama

The Defence Headquarters has declared eight persons wanted over their roles in the killing of 17 Nigerian Army officers and soldiers in Okuama, Ughelli Local Government Area of Delta State.

Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, told journalists on Thursday in Abuja that the OKuama Wanted list include Professor Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (Aka Amagben), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukeywe, Reuben Baru, and Igoli Ebi.

General Buba called on Nigerians especially residents of Delta and adjoining States to assist the military with credible information that would lead to the arrest of the eight persons.

Buba reiterated that the Nigerian military remains determined to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous act in Delta State.

Those who died in the gruesome killings in Okuama include AH Ali (Lieutenant Colonel); SD Shafa (Major); DE Obi
(Major); U. Zakari (Captain); Yahaya Saidu (Staff Sergeant); Yahaya Danbaba (Corporal); Kabiru Bashir (Corporal); Bulus Haruna (Lance Corporal); Sole Opeyemi (Lance Corporal); Bello Anas (Lance Corporal); Hamman Peter (Lance Corporal); and Ibrahim Abdullahi (Lance Corporal).

Others include Alhaji Isah (Private); Clement Francis (Private); Abubakar Ali (Private); Ibrahim Adamu
(Private) and Adamu Ibrahim (Private).

Their remains were buried at a national ceremony at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja on Wednesday.

The Director of Defence Media Operations also reaffirmed the commitment of the military to rescue all kidnapped and abducted victims in Nigeria.
