Terrorists Invade FCT Abuja Village, Abduct Pastor, Teacher, 11 Others, Demand over N900m Ransom

Terrorists in the early hours of Monday invaded the Piko community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, abducting 13 residents.

A resident of Shere, a neighbouring village, who craved for anonymity for security reason, told City & Crime yesterday that among the victims is a pastor in the village and an assistant head teacher with the Local Education Authority (LEA) in Shere community.

The terrorists later called to demand over N900 million ransom, among other demands, before the release of their kidnap victims.

The residents said the terrorists arrived the community some minutes after 12am and proceeded to a nearby herders’ helmet, from where they picked two herders and a pregnant woman.

“They later released the Fulani woman along with the head teacher, who is physically challenged, as well as one other person,” the source added.

Contacted on Tuesday, the FCT Police Command Cpokesperson, Josephine Adeh, promised to make inquiry on the incident and refer back but she did not up till the time of filling the report.
