Army Dismiss Female Soldier For Stealing N35m Worth Of Gold From Senior Officer’s Wife, Sells It For N5m

The Nigerian Army has dismissed a female soldier – 15NA/74/4422 Lcpl Jonah Comfort – for stealing a gold worth N35 million from a spouse of senior officer she was working for and sold it for N5 million.

But Lance Corporal Jonah Comfort’s luck ran out when the gold was traced to the buyer who revealed her “as the person who sold the gold to him leading to her arrest..”

According to a source: “Yes, the named ex-female soldier was dismissed on the 17th of May 2024 for stealing a gold worth N35 million from a spouse of a senior officer she was working for and sold it to one Mallam at the rate of N5 million.

“Luck ran against her as the gold was trace to the Mallam who revealed her as the person who sold the gold to him, leading to her arrest.

“It is disheartening that these are the crop of personnel we are recruiting for the military. It’s more unfortunate and sad that young female soldiers are joining their male counterparts in criminal act.

Since it has come to this, God will continue to expose the bad eggs among the Armed Forces of Nigeria. It is clear that criminality is not written on anyone’s face during recruitment. But this is a new menace we are confronting but we assure you that we will continue to extricate them from the system.”
