Murder In Abuja Home: Police Arrest 4 Killers Of General UH Udokwere (rtd)

The Nigeria Police have arrested four of the hoodlums who murdered Brigadier General Uwen Harold Udokwere, a retired senior officer of the Nigerian Army.

General Udokwere was murdered in an early morning attack on Saturday at his home at Sanga Street, Sunshine Homes by Kabusa Junction, Lokogoma Abuja.

The murderers had invaded the late General’s house at approximately 0300 hrs of 22 Jun 24, amid gunshots, taking away all the jewelries belonging to the wife other valuables, including the late senior officer’s pistols.

Investigations indicate that the killers all stay around the ghettos in the Apo environs in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The arrests was led by Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Victor O. Godfrey of the Utako Police Division.

Those arrested include Ibrahim Rabiu ‘m’ 33 years old from Dala Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State but resident at Rasha Apo Roundabout; Nafiu Jamil ‘m’ 33 years old from Tofa LGA Kano but resident at Apo Pantekar; Aliyu Abdullahi ‘m’ 47 years old from Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara State but resident at Apo Roundabout Abuja and Mohammed Nuhu ‘m’ 28 years old from Kumbotso LGA Kano State but resident at Apo Primary School.

Police sources hinted that “the suspects have all confessed to the heinous crimes of murder of the late General and armed robbery.

“The hoodlums stated that during the incident, they murdered the General to prevent him from harming them with his pistols which he brought out to defend himself but couldn’t effectively manipulate them.

“They also confessed to have stolen Laptops, phones among other valuables from the deceased home.

“As fate would have, the knife in which they stabbed him to death was recovered. The deceased black ‘Redmi’ GSM phone was also recovered.”

The source stated that “efforts are on top gear to recover the two pistols they confessed to have taken away from the late General’s house. In addition, efforts are on top gear to arrest the fleeing remaining suspects and recover the weapons.”
