Tinubu, Obi Mourn Labour Party House Of Reps Member, Ekene Abubakar Adams

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Labour Party Presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, have expressed sadness over the death of a Labour Party Legislator in the House of Representatives Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams.

In a statement by Presidential Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu commiserated with the National Assembly and the Kaduna State Government over the passing of Adams, a lawmaker who until his death, represented Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State in the House of Representatives.

The President extended “his condolences to the family and friends of the late lawmaker, urging them to find solace in the Almighty and in the legacy of the deceased. President Tinubu prays for the repose of the soul of the departed lawmaker and strength to his family.”

Peter Obi, writing on his X handle on Tuesday, said: “I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, a member of the Labour Party in the House of Representatives from Kaduna State. My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, family, and loved ones. His untimely death at the age of 39 is a tragic loss to the nation.

“As Chairman of the House Committee on Sports and Representative of the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Hon. Adams has already in his short tenure made significant contributions to the development of sports in Nigeria. His passion and expertise in this field will be greatly missed.

“May God Almighty who called him home at this time, forgive his sins and grant him eternal rest, and grant his family, and all of us, the fortitude to bear his sad irreplaceable loss.

‘May God Almighty protect and bless his family always.”
