Embrace Peace And Unity For Nigeria To Progress, Jerry Gana Tells Nigerians

Former Minister of Information and National Orientation, Professor Jerry Gana, has called on Nigerians to always embrace peace and unity rather than engage in violence.

Professor Gana spoke at the end of a three-day Synod of the Anglican Church in Busu, Lavun Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State expressed gratitude to God for the honour given to his hometown of Busu, “a small Christian community known to be very dogged and committed for hosting the Synod meant for big churches,” saying that “we are small but big.”

The former Minister, who is the Haske Nupe, also thanked the Muslim community in his hometown for their hospitality and support, adding that “the entire Busu is together and that’s exactly what the nation needs – togetherness.”

On the State of the Nation, Gana said “Nigerians have no business being too poor due to the abundance of natural and human resources that abound in this country.”

Stressing that “we are poor because as a people we do not do the right thing in a sustained way. Instead, we go about strategizing about killing each other because of religion which can invoke the curse of God on a nation.”

Furthermore, Professor Gana advised Nigerians “to come together, honour and love one another,” stating that “we should work together and have productivity to move Niger State and the Nation forward.”
