Sources said that the bandits had targeted a Primary School in Kuyello, located on the outskirts of the town, but could not find pupils to abduct. They then reportedly moved to the nearby hospital where they abducted the nurses on duty.

A community leader in the area, who confirmed the incident, described the situation as worrisome.

According to him: “They arrived in the area and went straight to a nearby school thinking they would find students. However, the school was empty. So, they proceeded to the Primary Health Care Centre in Kuyello and abducted the nurses on duty.”

A youth leader in Kuyello, Baba Isah, who also confirmed the incident, stated that the two abducted nurses were on duty when the bandits attacked.

It is however unclear if any of the patients at the hospital were abducted, as is has been deserted.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from the either the Kaduna State government or the Police.
