Sit-at-home: Gunmen In Shooting Spree, Kill 3 in Abatete, 2 In Ukpo, Anambra State

The Monday’s sit-at-home in Anambra State has been observed by coordinated killings and kidnappings across the State.

At Abatete, a town in Idemili North Local Government Area (LGA), unknown gunmen unleashed terror, killing three security men attached to the town’s President-General (PG). The PG however hit by a bullet and was taken to a nearby hospital. He had earlier been abducted but escaped from his abductors.

Also, in Ukpo Community, the town’s Vigilante group came under attack in the wave of violence as one vigilante and motor cyclist (okada) were killed at the town’s roundabout. Ukpo is the headquarters of Dunukofia LGA and the Nigeria Police Zone 13 headquarters.

Even though the mainstream Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has proclaimed an end to Monday’s sit-at-home, the IPOB-Autopilot faction led by Finland-based Simon Ekpa has insisting on the enforcement of the weekly shutdown.
