Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed, Drops 5 Commissioners, Sends Names of 8 Nominees For Screening, Confirmation By House Of Assembly

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has dropped five Commissioners from membership of the State Executive Council.

Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, said in a statement issued early Tuesday that the move is part of the strategic effort to reinvigorate governance and ensure optimal service delivery to the people of Bauchi State. 

According to the statement by Gidado: “Governor of Bauchi State, has approved the reconstitution of his cabinet. In that respect, Five commissioners were dropped. This move reflects the administration’s commitment to injecting new ideas and energy into governance, in line with the Governor’s vision of strengthening the machinery of government and addressing emerging challenges effectively.

“The Commissioners affected by this development are: Dr. Jamila Dahiru – Commissioner of Education, Barr. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu – Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Comrade Usman Danturaki – Commissioner of Information and Communication, Professor Simon Madugu Yalams – Commissioner of Agriculture and Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza – Commissioner of Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation. 

“The Governor extended his profound gratitude to the outgoing Commissioners for their dedication, service, and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Bauchi State stating that their efforts have been instrumental in advancing key initiatives and policies of this administration.

“The Governor wished them success in their future endeavors, expressing confidence that they will continue to contribute meaningfully to the progress of Bauchi State and Nigeria.”

He emphasized that “this Cabinet reconstitution is a routine measure aimed at enhancing the administration’s effectiveness.”

Meanwhile, Governor Mohammed has also forwarded the names of eight individuals for security clearance and subsequent confirmation as Honorable Commissioners by the Bauchi State House of Assembly .

The new nominees include Hon. Isa Babayo Tilde – Toro Local Government; Abdullahi Mohammed – Misau Local Government; Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi – Dass local Government; Usman Usman Shehu – Shira Local Government; Iliyasu Aliyu Gital – Tafawa Balewa Local Government; Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah – Tafawa Balewa Local Government; Hon Adamu Babayo Gabarin  – Darazo Local Government; and Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam – Toro Local Government. 

Mukhtar Gidado reassured that “The Governor remains committed to fulfilling the mandate of his administration and assures the people of Bauchi State that the government is steadfast in its mission to deliver impactful development and improved welfare for all.”
