Family, Friends, Associates Mourn As Commodore Muhammad Ahmad Wabi Is Buried

Family, colleagues, friends and associates have been thrown into mourning following the death of Commodore Mohammed Ahmad Wabi.

Commodore Wabi, an erudite Information Officer of the Nigerian Navy, was until his death yesterday January 24, 2025, the General Manager of Armed Forces Radio, Abuja.

He was buried same yesterday according to Muslim rites.

Promoted Navy Commodore in 2020, he was born in July 7, 1967 in Yerwa Borno State, North East Nigeria.

Commodore Wabi was enlisted in the Nigerian Navy on August 23, 1983 and commissioned Sub-Lieutenant in 1994.

He held several appointments which included Staff Officer, Naval headquarters (NHQ); Command Information Officer (CIO) Eastern Naval Command (ENC); Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Command and Staff College (CSC) jaji; PRO National Defence College (NDC); Assistant Director Defence Information (ADDI – Navy), Defence Headquarters (DHQ); and Deputy Director Defence Media Operations DHQ.

Commodore Wabi attended various junior and senior Staff course at CSC, Jaji and NDC Abuja.

He held a Masters in Strategic Studies, Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna and was a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), among several professional bodies.
