Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) Anambra State Branch has extolled the “impeccable virtue, patriotism, selflessness, desire for common good and interest of less privileged of fiery and courageous priest Rev. Fr Emmanuel Obimma” in giving scholarship to the son of assassinated State lawmaker Honourable Justice Azuka.
Obinma, popularly known as Ebube Muonso, has been in forefront in demand for improved security, socioeconomic justice and good governance in Anambra State. He was also among the vocal citizens of the State demanding justice for Honourable Azuka who represented Onitsha North 1 in Anambra State House of Assembly.
CLO said in a statement on Thursday by Comrades Vincent Ezekwueme (Chairman) and Chidi Mbah (Secretary) that it is “overwhelmed and humbled” by the offer by Fr. Ebube Muonso, appealing to all public spirited individuals to emulate him.
In the statement tagged “Charity and love heals the heart,” the CLO “calls on political class and public spirited individuals to emulates Fr.Ebube Muonso to ensure that the family of the slain lawmaker did not suffer. He has set the standard for others to emulates.
“We equally pray for God’s protection and guidance for Fr.Ebube Muonso and family of the slained lawmaker as well as restoration of security,peace, unity and tranquility in the State.”
