Despite Peace Deal, Bandits Abduct 10, Injure 2 In Kaduna Midnight Attacks

Bandits have kidnapped 10 villagers and injured two others in coordinated midnight raids across three remote communities in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State.

The attacks occurred on Wednesday around 2am when armed bandits stormed the Unguwan Yashi-Maraban Kajuru community, and abducted six individuals. The victims were identified as GodDream Ladan, Lady GodDream, Philip Mudakas, Mercy Philip, Bitrus Philip, and Gmen Philip.

In a similar attack on Makyali village, two people sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to Maraban Kajuru Hospital for treatment. Two women, Rahina Yahaya and Zulai Yahaya, were also kidnapped from the village.

Those injured were identified as Ubale Yahaya and Abdullahi.

At around 4am, the same group of bandits attacked Ungwan Mudi Doka, abducting two more individuals, Amos Michael and Samita Amos.

Stephen Maikori, Acting District Head of Kufana, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust on Thursday, noting that while such attacks had decreased in recent months, they have now resurged.

“So far, 10 people have been taken, and two others are receiving treatment. We urge security agencies to respond swiftly and take decisive action to protect lives and property in this area,” he said.

Efforts to reach Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
