Bishop Ezeokafor Calls The Lay Faithful To Improve Relationship With God At 2025 Laity Week Flag-off

The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Reverend Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor has flagged off the 2O25 Awka Diocesan Laity Council Week, calling on the lay faithful yo improve their relationship with God.  

The event was held at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Agulu in Aniocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The Bishop urged all to do their best for work of salvation, even as he advised them to join various parishes in order to benefit from this year’s laity week.

He expressed his thanks to Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria, Awka Diocese for their good work and for choosing the theme: ‘’Upholding and Promoting the Liturgy Among Catholic.’’

On his part, the President, Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria Awka Diocese, Hon Sir Joseph Igwebuike extolled Governor Charles Soludo for his outstanding achievements in the state and assured him of their support.

 Earlier, the Chief Chaplain, Laity Council of Nigeria, Awka Diocese, Rev Fr Jude Ezeanokwasa welcomed the Bishop, Governor and all the dignitaries/ awardees ; including the Deans and the 14 deaneries that attended the event.

 The occasion featured presentation of award of excellence in the government of Anambra State to Governor Soludo. While receiving the award, the Governor expressed his delight for the honour. He appreciated the Bishop for his leadership, mentorship and support. He also thanked the laity and promised to do his best in their ongoing project.

Award was also presented to APGA National Chairman, Barr Sly Ezeokenwa; others included the Managing Director of Anambra State ICT Agency, Mr Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata; the National Youth Leader of Agulu People’s Union, Hon Eric Kennedy Maduagwu; Hon Barr Ugochukwu Ibeneme; Senator Victor Umeh; Dr George Muoghalu; Sir Kanayo Ughamadu and Lady Jessie Ifeoma Udoka, for their great services to the community.

 Highlights of the event included marchpast by the representatives of the deaneries.
