Troops of 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN in the early hours of Friday May 23, 25 conducted “intelligence based raid operation” at a bandit hideout at Teng Village in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing one of the bandits.
Sources confirmed that the bandits were overwhelmed by the troops’ firepower, and this forced them “to retreat in disarray,” leaving “traces of blood along their withdrawal routes.”
The source noted that the troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine and 11 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition.
According to the source: “In the early hours of 23 May 25, troops of 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN conducted intelligence based raid operation at a bandit hideout at Teng Village in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State. During the operation, troops made contact, overwhelmed the criminals and forced them to retreat in disarray.
“In the exchange of fire, one bandit was neutralised while traces of blood along their withdrawal routes indicates that some of the fleeing bandits sustained gunshot wounds. Troops exploited the hideout and recovered one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine and 11 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition.
“The recovered arms and ammunition are in the custody of troops for further action. Meanwhile, troops are on pursuit of the fleeing criminals.”
