Operation SAFE HAVEN Commander Receives Fact-finding Team On Plateau Security, Assures Of Cooperation

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General Folusho Oyinlola, on Wednesday received members of the High-powered Fact-Finding Committee set-up by Plateau State Governor to find lasting solutions to the incessant attacks on Plateau Communities.

The 10-man Committee members, who were inaugurated on May 20, 2025 were received at the Headquarters 3 Division, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos.

The Chairman of the Committee, Major General RI Nicholas (rtd), explained at the meeting that the visit was aimed at forming a healthy working relationship with Operation SAFE HAVEN towards achieving the mandate of the Committee.

Describing the Command as a critical institution that could help the Committee achieve its objectives with adequate information on the security breaches beginning from year 2001, General Nicholas added that the Committee will ensure workable solutions are provided to the Plateau State government for implementation in order to address the circle of violence which has plagued the State.

Responding, General Oyinlola extolled the personalities of the Committee members, expressing confidence in their ability to suggest doable solutions that will bring permanent peace to the State.

The Commander assured that 3 Division/OPSH will provide necessary information to aid the activities of the Committee which has two months to complete its assignment.

The GOC also admonished communities not to take the law into their hands but rather take complaints to security agencies for immediate action.

Highlights of the visit includes presentation of brief, interactive session, signing of visitors’ book and group photograph.
