Troops of Sector 2 (Sub-Sector 2) Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) stationed in Bokkos have conducted a raid on suspected gunrunners’ hideout at Fashoron Village, Daffo District, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Spokesperson of OPEP, Major Samson Nantip Zhakoum, said in a statement that the raid, which was conducted on November 13, 2025, was part of “continued efforts to disrupt the activities of armed criminals within the Joint Operations Area (JOA).
The statement noted that though “the suspects fled the location before troops arrived,” some arms and ammunition were recovered.
According to the statement: “A thorough search of the hideout led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, one Sub-Machine Gun (SMG), 2 Dane guns, 42 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, 84 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and twenty cartridges. Additional items recovered include 6 mobile phones and 330 thousand naira cash.
“All recovered items are currently in custody, while efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
“The Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE remains steadfast in its mandate, employing all legitimate measures to rid the JOA of criminal elements, particularly those involved in the proliferation of illicit weapons and ammunition.”
