A father and son who sexually abused a child they claimed to be “besotted” with have disturbingly suggested they simply got “carried away”, a court has heard.

Victor Blowers, 69, and his son Alexander Blowers, 41, have received a combined jail term of 32 years at Ipswich Crown Court. The horrific abuse was exposed after the courageous youngster told a teacher that a man had been using his mobile phone to capture inappropriate images of them.

Following Victor Blowers’ arrest at his Great Yarmouth home in Norfolk, he admitted to the abuse, telling police he was “besotted” with the child. In a disturbing confession, he described finding the youngster “pretty” and claimed he had “just got carried away.” Later enquiries uncovered that Victor’s son, Alexander, had also committed sexual offences against the child.

The victim described being taken to isolated locations by the pair, recalling being seated between Victor and Alexander Blowers on the back seat of a vehicle before suffering abuse.

Alexander Blowers also raped the child. He entered guilty pleas to two counts of sexual assault, one count of rape, and a charge of creating indecent images of a child, reports the Daily Star.

His father, Victor, admitted to a total of nine offences, including rape, sexual assault, assaulting a child under 13, taking indecent photos of a child, and making indecent photos of a child.

Alexander Blowers, 41, residing at Morello Place, Cambridge, received a 20-year prison sentence, with an additional five years to be served on licence. His father was sentenced to 12 years behind bars, with an additional four years to be served on licence.
