Defence Minister Hosts Slain Brigadier General Oseni Braimah’s Brother, Reaffirms Commitment To Fallen Heroes Families

Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), on Monday received Mr. Hassan Braimah, brother of the slain Brigadier General Oseni Omoh Braimah.

Brigadier General Braimah, a distinguished Infantry Officer of the Nigerian Army, died in the line of duty at Benisheikh on April 9, 2026. At the time of his passing, he was Commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade. He was laid to rest with full military honours at the Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery, Maiduguri, on April 15, 2026, alongside seven other personnel who died in service.

During the visit at the headquarters of Ministry of Defence, Ship House Abuja., Mr. Hassan Braimah shared poignant memories of his brother as a dedicated officer committed to the service of the nation, expressing pride in the General’s sacrifice while assuring the Minister of the family’s resolve to support the loved ones he left behind.

Responding with deep empathy, General Musa extended the condolences of the Ministry and the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the Braimah family. He reaffirmed that the Ministry maintains an open-door policy and provides continuous support to families of fallen heroes.

“The Armed Forces will never abandon the families of those who lay down their lives for this country,” General Musa stated. “We remain committed to providing assistance, care, and direct access to the Ministry whenever needed.”

According to the statement: “The visit underscored the nation’s enduring gratitude for the sacrifices of its military personnel and the Ministry’s resolve to uphold their legacy by supporting their families.”
