Babysitter Burnt Boy With Cigarettes, Forced Him To Eat Dog Food, Jailed

A vile woman subjected a young boy to horrific abuse, burning him with cigarettes and forcing him to eat dog food.

Siann Cawley, 27, was handed a prison sentence of four years and three months at Preston Crown Court on October 7 for her appalling crimes against another person’s child.

In an earlier hearing, she pleaded guilty to charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, ill-treatment, neglect and abandonment.

The court heard that during the three weeks the boy was in Cawley’s care, he sustained several injuries as she put out cigarettes on his body and made him eat dog food.

It was also revealed that she would leave him alone in the house for hours while she went out. Cawley is currently serving her sentence at HMP Styal in Cheshire, United Kingdom (UK).
