Nigeria records 125 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday, confirmed cases now 54,588 from 413,265 sample tests

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday announced that Nigeria reported 125 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Friday, bringing the nation’s confirmed cases to 54,588.

The NCDC said via its official Twitter handle that the 54,588 confirmed cases was out of total 413,265 sample tests.

The health agency data noted that Nigeria has 10,912 active cases, 42,627 have been treated and discharged while 1,048 deaths have been recorded in 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The NCDC disclosed that the 125 new infections were recorded in 12 States and the FCT with Lagos State bouncing back to record the highest number of 42 cases on Thursday, followed by FCT with 25 cases.

Others include Katsina (14), Kaduna (11), Kwara (8), Ondo (7), Delta (4), Anambra (3) Oyo (3), Edo (2), Ogun (2), Osun (2), and Cross River (1).
