Bandits invade Federal Govt Girls College, Birnin-Yauri, Kebbi State, kidnap over 30 students, 3 teachers

  • Bandits kill one Mobile Policeman

Bandits continued their rampage against schools in Northern Nigeria with the invasion of Federal Government Girls College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State where they abducted many students.

Though details of the invasion and abduction of students are is still sketchy, sources said at least 30 students and three teachers were abducted.

Also, a Mobile Policeman stationed at the school was shot dead during the operation.

Sources said that the bandits stormed into the school on motorcycles from neighbouring Rijau forest, overpowering the Policeman before killing him.

This is the third known attack on a school in the country in the last three weeks.

On May 30, pupils were abducted from an Islamic School in Tegina, Niger State.

Two weeks later, bandits abducted staff and students at Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic in Kaduna State.
