Buhari turns “Father Christmas” in Daura, distributes cows, rice, cash

President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Abuja about 5.40pm on Friday, eight days after he left for his country home, Daura, Katsina State, where he celebrated the Eid-Kabir Sallah.

Presidential Spokesperson, Malam Garba Shehu, said in a statement that President Buhari turned ‘father Christmas” during his stay, giving away 22 cows to military personnel in Katsina and Daura.

According to the statement, “he donated five cows each to the Brigade and Air Force base in Katsina, the state capital and five each to the Battalion and the Air Force base in Daura.

“The soldiers on guard duty at the residence were given two.”

The statement also added that the President had earlier, on Sallah day, donated two cows, 20 bags of rice and the sum of one million Naira to members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who paid him visit.

The statement noted that President Buhari used his visit to commission the Zobe Regional Water project which would provide 50 million litres of water to the State.

He also commissioned the first NALDA Integrated Farm Estate that will create job opportunities for families, and equip many with modern farming techniques for crops and livestock.
