25 persons killed as terrorists invade 4 Kaduna State communities, says Commissioner

The terror attacks continue in Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria as bandits killed at least 25 people in separate attacks on four communities in the State.

The terrorists also destroyed 37 farmlands, burnt down 52 houses, two motorcycles, and a generator in the communities.

Mr Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna State Commissioner for Security and Internal Affairs, said in a statement that eight people were killed when the terrorists attacked Urgwan Magaji village in Kajuru Local Government Area (LGA) of the State on Tuesday morning.

Aruwan identified the victims Timothy Auta, Dauda Gabi, Larai Danladi, Johnny Danladi, Chibi Chiwo, Monday Titus, Altine Maza, and Dauda Bala.

In Kigba village where 11 houses were razed and 31 farmlands destroyed, six people died in the onslaught and were identified as “Adamu Kambari, Musa Kambari, Monday Adamu, Mary Adamu, Laraba Adamu, Asabe Musa.”

Three people – Likita Adamu, Friday Yakubu, Danlami Joshua, were injured.

In Kishisho community, seven people were identified from those killed in the early morning attack. The victims were “John Atasha, Sunday Rakun, Chibi Tibeh, Whora Bisai, Laraba Sunday, Lami Sunday, Titi Audu.”

Since the middle of 2020, attacks by terrorists described by locals as bandits have killed more than 200 people in Kajuru Local Government area in the southern region of the state, surrounded by rocks.

The insecurity, which spreads across the larger Northwest region, has hampered farming activities in the area where agriculture is the people’s mainstay, the state government once noted.

Despite public postures, not much has been done to curtail the escalating violence by Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State, or President Muhammadu Buhari.
