Nollywood actor, Rich Oganiru, is dead.

The actor reportedly died on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 after being ill for months.

Only two weeks ago, a video of Rich Oganiru lying on his sick bed surfaced and was shared online begging for financial assistance to enable him take care of his failing health.

Posted by D’scarce Franklin official on July 29, 2021, the caption read: “Please, everyone should reach out before he dies.”

The full post read: “This our Nollyword actor RICH OGANIRU really need help. Please, everyone should reach out before he dies.. pls, even if you don’t have money, please SHARE someone might like to help. God bless.”

Unfortunately, Rich didn’t survive the illness as he died on Tuesday.

 A friend, EmstarVees ng announced on Facebook: “Sunset at Noon, Tuesday 10th August 2021. Ahem… I’ve lost a good friend like a brother for years. Nollywood actor per excellence. Am just speechless. RIP AMb. Rich Oganiru. Well, his sad demise reminds me of a song, ‘Celebrate me when am still alive.’

Oganiru had been dogged by controversy over the death of his wife.

In 2012, the Nollywood actor, who starred in numerous movies, was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife.

According to news reports at the time, Oganiru was arrested following a petition by family and relations of his late wife who claimed that she was poisoned by the actor so that he could acquire her wealth.

Mr Oganiru has maintained his innocence and said on numerous occasions that he never killed his multimillionaire wife.
