2 lecturers kidnapped by suspected herdsmen in Abia State, Southeast Nigeria

Two lecturers at Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu, were kidnapped by suspected herdsmen along the ABSU-Isuikwuato Road.

Sources say that the lecturers were abducted along with others about 6pm on Thursday.

The two lecturers include Reverend Professor S.O Eze of the Department of Industrial Chemistry and Don Chris Afulike of the Department of Mass Communication.

A source said that Professor Eze, who is also a Methodist Minister and Mr Afulike were traveling in their different cars ran into some Fulani herdsmen who blocked the ABSU-Isikwuato road and started “unleashing terror on innocent men, women and children who were travelling. They ransacked their luggages and took whatever they can before taking some of the travellers including the two lecturers to an unknown location.”
