Nigeria records 11 COVID-19 deaths on Thursday as total confirmed cases climb to 212,947

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said that Nigeria recorded 11 COVID-19 deaths on Thursday, just as the total number of confirmed cases of the virus int eh country climbed to 212,947.

The 11 new deaths brought the total death toll in Nigeria to 2 933.

Nigeria also registered a total of 53 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, which was why the total number of cases edged up to 212,947.

The NCDC stated this in its daily COVID-19 report on Friday that the The 53 additional cases indicate a decrease from the 65 cases reported in the country the previous day.

According to the NCDC statistics, a total of 205,000 Nigerians had been discharged from the various isolation centres across the country.

In addition, Nigeria has a total of 5,297 active coronavirus cases, while a total of 3,392,457 blood samples had been tested since the pandemic began across the country in February 27, 2020.

However, the 53 new cases were from seven States of the Nigerian federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with Lagos recording 19, FCT-7, Plateau-7, Rivers-7, Imo-5, Kano-4, Zamfara-2, Bayelsa-1 and Gombe-1.
