Former Army Chief, General Wushishi, dies at 81, in London hospital

Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff, Major General Mohammed Inuwa Wushishi, is dead.

General Wushishi served as Chief of Army Staff between October 1981 and October 1983, during the Second Republic.

A family source confirmed that he died at a London Hospital.

General Wushishi was born in 1940 in Wushishi, Headquarters of Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State.

He served in the Nigerian Army in various capacities, including General Officer Commanding (GOC), 4 Infantry Division, Nigerian Army, 1976; Commandant, Staff College, Jaji, December 1979.
