Gunmen Kill 3 Federal Road Safety Commission Officers Along Uga-Ezinifite Road, Anambra State

Gunmen on Sunday afternoon shoot to death three Road Safety Commission Officers along Uga-Ezinifite Road, Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The Uga-Ezinifite-Igbo-Ukwu road in notorious for bandits attacks on security and safety force officers.

The attacked area is few kilometres to the home village of the Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, who is from Isuofa town, Aguata LGA.

The attack is taking place less than 24 hours after the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) abrogated its sit at home directive in South East Nigeria and asking anyone enforcing it or conducting killings to be treated as criminals.

The IPOB position geared towards embracing peace negotiations was conveyed at a stakeholders meeting organized by the Anambra State government in Awka by the Chairman, Anambra Traditional Rulers Council and Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, during the one-day peace building and security meeting.

Igwe Achebe said after a meeting with representatives of the group, they called all its members to sheathe their swords, put down their guns and go the way of dialogue.

“We call on all who had taken the way of gun to put down their guns and take up the olive leaf from the government to better themselves,” Achebe said.
