The Nigeria Police Force on Thursday vowed to trail, arrest and prosecute owners of dogs who paid some ladies in Lagos to have sex with their pets.
The Police Command also disclosed that its operatives would arrest and prosecute those ladies involved to serve as a deterrent for others planning to be involved in such an act.
Nigeria Police Spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, a Chief Superintendent of Police, said in Abuja that the acts which allegedly took place in the high brow Lekki area of Lagos State is “barbaric”, arguing that their offence is punishable under the law.
“Unnatural offences: We will extend our search, investigation and punishment to the owners of the dogs caught in the act of having sexual intercourse with ladies or being used for similar offences.
“They also have questions to answer. The offence is punishable under the law, and thus condemned. We will soon apprehend the lady and others like her including the men, who have been involved in this criminal and barbaric act,” Adejobi said.
The official added that men engaging in bestial acts won’t be spared as well, noting that posting such videos online won’t be tolerated.
The Criminal Code Act and the Penal Code Act criminalise sleeping with an animal and the act attracts up to 14 years imprisonment in Nigeria.
It would be recalled that a light-skinned lady in a trending video on TikTok claimed she was paid N1.5 million to sleep with a dog.
The video was said to be recorded in Lagos State, and many had wondered why a dog owner would pay a lady such a huge amount of money to sleep with his pet.
