ISWAP Terrorists Shoot MNJTF Helicopter Near Mallam Fatori, Lake Chad Basin Area, Chopper Lands Safely

A Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) helicopter escaped being shot down by Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists near Mallam Fatori, Borno State, in the Lake Chad Basin area of Northeast, Nigeria.

The terrorists’ fire affected the helicopter glass wind and back but no one was injured as the two pilots onboard landed safely.

Sources which confirmed the incident said that the helicopter belongs to KEA Logistics which is on contract with MNJTF for logistics and personnel lift.

The MNJTF Areas of Responsibility (AOR) covers eight affected areas in the Lake Chad Basin areas of Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria.

Eons Intelligence had earlier reported that “the MNJTF Helicopter (logistics/personnel lift) was shot at by suspected ISWAP Terrorists on 30 June,2022 at about 1500hrs near Mallam Fatori, Borno State.

“The Terrorists had fired at helicopter glass wind and back seat. Fortunately, there was no passenger on board and pilots were unhurt.”
