U.S. Centers For Disease Control And Prevention Holds Consultative Meeting With 16 States’ Commissioners Of Health

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will on Friday hold a consultative meeting with Nigerian 16 States’ Commissioners of Health.

It is scheduled to hold at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

According to a statement by the U.S. Embassy, Abuja, the event will be a platform to engage the Commissioners and other key stakeholders on the U.S.-CDC/PEPFAR-supported HIV program implementation, progress toward epidemic control, and sustainability.  

The statement said that “the meeting will focus on the over 1.2 million Nigerians living with HIV in Abia, Delta, Enugu, Imo, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Plateau, Benue, Kaduna, Katsina, Kogi, Nasarawa, Rivers, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, who are currently receiving treatment through U.S. CDC intervention.

“The U.S. CDC Country Director, Dr. Mary Boyd, will provide remarks at the event in addition to officials from the National AIDS and STI Program and the honorable Commissioners.”
