Confusion Continues In APGA As Abuja Court Affirms Victor Oye As Authentic APGA National Chairman, Says Edozie Njoku Is Interloper

The confusion in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (,APGA) continues as the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday affirmed Victor Oye as the lawful and legitimate National Chairman of the party.

The court kicked out Edozie Njoku, who had been laying claims to the highest office in the political party.

Justice James Omotoso in a judgment held that by the judgments of the Federal High Court, Court of Appeal and later Supreme Court, it was clear that Victor Oye is the legitimate National Chairman of the party.

Justice Omotoso held that Edozie Njoku was a meddlesome interloper in the suit seeking to reap where he did not sow.

The court condemned the action of a legal practitioner, CN Nwagwu for deliberately misleading the court and causing unnecessary confusion that wasted the judicial time of the court.

Justice Omotoso said that Nwagwu failed to act as Minister in the temple of Justice adding that his conduct was unbecoming of a legal practitioner of his status.

The Federal High Court Abuja judgment continues the logjam in the party as Supreme Court last week reaffirmed Edozie Njoku as the National Chairman of APGA following the judgement on an application by Njoku, where he sought the regularisation of the amended judgment of Justice Mary Peter Odili delivered on May 9, 2022.

Njoku’s motion also followed a letter of the Supreme Court to him on January 19, 2023, wherein the apex court had addressed him as the national chairman of APGA and advised him to approach the court by way of a motion to correct the slip.

The accidental slip which was corrected by the Supreme Court has restored Njoku as the actual national chairman of the party that was wrongfully removed by a Jigawa High Court.

In a lead Judgment, Justice Garba Lawal held that it was Edozie Njoku that was wrongly removed at Jigawa without being joined as a party.

Justice Lawal Subsequently, stated that Njoku’s application was meritorious and consequently granted it as prayed.

Reacting to the judgement, Njoku appealed to the Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo to make himself available for a discussion on the way forward for the party.

He said he will also do everything possible to bring stability to the party.
