“No Serious Leader Will Go And Rest In Nigeria,” Peter Obi Swipes At Tinubu Who Says ‘I’m Strong’ After One Month Vacation Abroad

Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of of the Labour Party (LP), says no serious leader would go on a rest (vacation) in Nigeria in the midst of national challenges.

Obi, who spoke on Monday when he paid the Muslim community in Akwa Central Mosque an Eid-el-fitr visit, urged that Nigerians should not be divided based on religion or politics.

According to him: “People who want to rest can go and relax. I am not resting because I have to visit schools and hospitals and interact with people.

“No serious leader will go and rest in Nigeria. We will continue to visit as many people as possible and support them as best we can.”

President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu had returned to Nigeria on Monday after his over one month vacation in Europe, stating that he is strong and ready to kick the ground running.

Reports quoted Tinubu as telling the tumultuous crowd who followed him home that “I’m happy to be back. I have rested. I’m refreshed and I’m ready for the task ahead.

“Forget about what the rumour mill may have told you. I’m strong, very strong.”
