2 Soldiers Arrested In Edo State For Kidnapping, Illegal Duty

Two soldiers have been arrested in Edo State for alleged kidnapping of a civilian and executing an illegal duty.

The two soldiers include Lance Corporal Mohammed Sule (17NA/76/4460) of 4 Brigade Garrison and Private Osagie Osamudiamen (18NA/77/3378) of 144 Battalion.

They were arrested with arms and ammunition.

According to a source: “Two soldiers –  Lance Corporal Mohammed Sule (17NA/76/4460) of 4 Brigade Garrison and Private Osagie Osamudiamen (18NA/77/3378) of 144 Battalion were arrested by Edo State Keystone at PZ Junction, Sapele Road, Edo State ad handed over to 4 Brigade Provost Company on Friday evening.

“The soldiers were alleged to have kidnapped a civilian while armed with AK 47 rifle and was taking him to an unknown destination before they were intercepted.

“Prelim investigations however indicates that the soldiers were on illegal duty having been hired by a Yahoo boy to recover illegal proceeds.

“Items recovered from the two include 1 X AK 47 RIFLE, 60 X LIVE RDS OF 7.62 MM (SP), 2 X Magazines and 1 X Military ID cards.

“The two soldiers are currently in the custody of the $ Brigade Company for detailed investigations.”
