Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield to Lead U.S. Delegation to the 2023 UN Peacekeeping Ministerial in Accra, Ghana

The United States Mission to the United Nations today announced the U.S. delegation to the 2023 UN Peacekeeping Ministerial to be held December 5-6, 2023, in Accra, Ghana.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield will serve as Head of Delegation and will be accompanied by Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Michele Sison, National Security Council Senior Director for African Affairs Judd Devermont, and other U.S. officials.

At the Ministerial, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield will deliver opening remarks at the U.S.-hosted side event on Improving Environmental Management in Peacekeeping.

The Ambassador will also join a panel on Conditions for Success in Peacekeeping and make new announcements on concrete support that the United States will deliver to strengthen UN peacekeeping operations, including support to African partners.

The 2023 Ministerial will focus on the protection of civilians, safety and security, the mental health of peacekeepers, and women in peacekeeping, as well as misinformation, disinformation, and hate speech.
