Russia-Ukraine War: Russia Captures ‘US Built Bradley Tank’ And ‘Identifying Vulnerabilities’ As Russian Attacks Worsening Ukraine’s Humanitarian Conditions

  • Russian television station has shown footage of what it claims is a US-built Bradley infantry fighting vehicle captured on the front line

A Russian television station has shown footage of what it claims is a US-built Bradley infantry fighting vehicle captured on the front line.

The vehicle was allegedly abandoned by its Ukrainian crew in the Luhansk region after coming under Russian fire, the prime-time show on the Russia 1 channel reported.

It claimed that the capture of a working Bradley, one of several that Washington has supplied to Ukraine this year, would enable Russian forces to identify its vulnerabilities.

Two masked crew members told the Russian channel that they had gone back to retrieve the tank under cover of darkness and thick fog in the “grey zone”, about 500m from Ukrainian forces.

The tank shown in the footage was covered in bullet holes which the presenter claimed were left by Ukrainian drones trying to destroy much of the hi-tech equipment in the abandoned vehicle.

Russia’s intensifying attacks on Ukraine’s energy grid are worsening humanitarian conditions across the country as temperatures plummet, a senior UN official has warned.

Miroslav Jenca, assistant secretary-general for Europe, Central Asia and Americas, told the UN Security Council that Ukraine’s nuclear plants also “remain at risk” while the war continues.

Kyiv has been bracing for a repeat of last winter’s relentless Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure which led to widespread power outages.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently said Ukraine “must prepare” for increased assaults on its facilities.
