There’s No Proposal “On The Establishment Of Any Foreign Military Bases In Nigeria” – Tinubu Govt

The Nigerian Federal Government has described as false allegations that the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is considering the establishment of any foreign military base in Nigeria.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, in a statement, urged the general public to totally disregard the falsehood as there is no consideration for the “establishment of any foreign military bases in Nigeria.”

According to the Minister: “The Federal Government is not in any such discussion with any foreign country.”

Idris went on to explain that the government has not received any proposals from any country “on the establishment of any foreign military bases in Nigeria.”

He noted that the Nigerian government is already enjoying foreign cooperation in tackling ongoing security challenges in the country, adding that President Tinubu remains committed to deepening these partnerships, “with the goal of achieving the national security objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
