Matriarch Umeozulu Goes Home

The renowned matriarch, Lolo Josephine Uzoamaka Umeozulu (Nnedioranma) – nee Nwoye – has transited to the higher realm.

She was the wife of the celebrated businessman and community leader, Chief Basil Okafor Umeozulu, aka Akuyie-Nwata-Egwu, founder and CEO of the trailblazing Amesi Commercial Enterprises (ACE) Limited.

Born in 1941, she got married to her beloved husband on September 4, 1957, a holy matrimony that lasted for 65 years until the passing on of her lionized paterfamilias.

Lolo Josephine Umeozulu was the doting mother of eight surviving children made up of five boys and three girls, namely, Joachim, Robert, Ifeoma, Nkechi, Amaka, Tochukwu, Chinedu, and Uchechukwu. Her grandchildren are 32 in number, and counting.

A devout Catholic, Lolo Umeozulu’s Vigil Mass will hold on Thursday, May 16, at her husband late Chief Basil Umeozulu’s compound, Amuwo Village, Amesi in Aguata LGA, Anambra State.

A Wake-keep Mass holds by 5pm on Monday, May 13, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Independence Layout, Enugu.

Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, May 17 at St Vincent’s Catholic Church, Amesi by 10am.

Reception will then follow at Christ Redeemer College (CRC) field, Amesi.

The Thanksgiving Mass is scheduled for St Vincent’s Catholic Church, Amesi on Sunday, May 19 by 8.30am.

In celebrating the life and legacy of Lolo Josephine Umeozulu, the first son, Joachim, invites all well-wishers to a happy get-together while paying last respects to the acclaimed Nnedioranma who in her lifetime was indeed the mother of all.
