A man in his 60s has been confirmed death after a grey Subaru Forester SUV left the road and mounted the pavement, colliding with him on the A609 Woodhouse Road, Kilburn, Derbyshire village, England.

Derbyshire Police said that the man was sadly declared dead at the scene by emergency services who were called at about 07:40 BST after the collision

Officers, who would like anyone with information to make contact, say the family of the pedestrian were immediately informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“We’re keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area at the time with dash cam installed, or any local premises with private CCTV, which may have captured footage which would assist our investigation,” says the officers.

The driver of the Forester, a man aged 79, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The road was closed for several hours while investigation work and vehicle recovery took place.
