East London Mum Who Sells Own Daughter, 15, To Paedophile To Sexually Abuse Her, Convicted On Two-count Charges

By Grâçia Ada Obi

A man from South London and a woman from East London have been found guilty of the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old who was “sold” by her mother to be sexually abused.

The mother of a 15-year-old girl “sold” her daughter to be sexually abused by a “dangerous” sexual predator – who Police say may have attacked others.

Following a two-week trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Ferdous Ahmad, 37, of Queensbridge Road, Hackney, and the woman, from Tower Hamlets, were found guilty of multiple offences involving the sexual assault of a child.

The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation after Police were contacted by a man who claimed Ahmad had been “sexually communicating” with a teenage girl.

Police established that Ahmad had been “repeatedly” sexually abusing the girl, aged 15, and that her mother had been “selling” her to Ahmad to be sexually abused.

The pair were charged on September 30 with multiple counts of sexual offences that took place between November 2023 and March 2024.

Ahmad was convicted of two counts of sexual assault, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and sexual communication with a child.

The woman was convicted of two counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The mother’s identity cannot be named to protect the identity of her daughter.

Both were remanded for sentencing at the same court on Monday, December 16.

The force has also said that they are “concerned” that Ahmad may have sexually abused other children and are appealing for anyone who may have been a victim or knows someone who is to contact them.

Detective Constable Matthew Cranston, from Central East Child Abuse Investigation Team, said: “Ahmad is a dangerous sexual predator who has now been convicted of grooming and sexually abusing a child.

“I commend the courage of the victim in this case who bravely gave evidence and trusted us when the offences first came to light.

“This case demonstrates the Metropolitan Police’s unwavering commitment to supporting victims of crime and ensuring that those who seek to cause harm to children and use violence against women and girls are brought to justice. If you need to speak to us, you will be supported.

“We remain seriously concerned about the predatory nature of Ahmad’s offending in this case.
