Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has commended the Nigerian Army for its outstanding efforts in ensuring the security of lives and property along the Illela–Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway Project.

Badaru, who spoke during a one-day operational visit to Kebbi State, told troops stationed at the Forward Operations Base Laager, which is tasked with safeguarding the road construction site that the project was designed to enhance economic activities and improve transportation across Nigeria.

Stating that the visit was also aimed at assessing military operations in the region, the Minister Badaru emphasized that the road project is a critical component of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to a statement by Ministry of Defence Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Badaru told the troops: “This project is a game-changer for travelers, particularly those commuting between Sokoto and Lagos. It will stimulate the economy by creating numerous jobs and economic opportunities.

“You understand the importance of this road and the critical nature of your mission. That is why the President has entrusted me with the responsibility of visiting you to personally express our appreciation for the exceptional work you are doing.”
