U.S. leads global COVID-19 cases with 610,206 infections, 25,265 deaths as Nigeria’s infections jump 19 to 362, 11 deaths

Nigeria recorded 19 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total figure to 362.

In the same vein, a new death was recorded, bringing the total number of the dead as a result of the COVID-19 to 11 just as the total number of recovered and discharged patients is now 99.

For the world, the total number of COVID-19 cases is 1,990,717 with 125,896 deaths and 466,997 recovered and discharged patients.

The United States of America (USA) leads the race for the country with the most infections and deaths with a total of 610,206 infections, 25,265 deaths and 38,520 recovered and discharged patients.

For Africa, the total number of confirmed cases is 16,805, 872 death and 3,318 recovered and discharged patients. South Africa leads the pack with 2,415 confirmed infections, 27 dead and 410 recovered and discharged cases.

The Nigeria Control for Disease Control (NCDC) said in a Tweet that of the 19 new cases, 14 was recorded in Lagos, 2 in Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 1 in Kano, 1 in Akwa Ibom and 1 in Edo.

The NCDC said that the figures were recorded “as at 09:20 pm 14th April.”

With the new figures, the total number of cases as per the 19 States where the infections have been recorded include Lagos- 203, FCT- 58, Osun- 20, Edo- 16, Oyo- 11, Ogun- 9, Bauchi- 6, Kaduna- 6, Akwa Ibom- 5, Katsina-5, Kwara- 4, Kano- 4, Ondo- 3, Delta- 3, Enugu- 2, Ekiti- 2, Rivers-2, Benue- 1, Niger- 1 and Anambra-1.
