Imbibe loyalty, professionalism in discharge of your constitutional duties, Attahiru charges soldiers

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, has charged officers and soldiers of the 6 Division Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, to imbibe the virues of loyalty and professionalism in the discharge of their constitutional roles.

General, Attahiru, who spoke during his maiden visit to 6 Division, urged the personnel to key into his vision of “A Nigerian Army that is repositioned to Professionally Defeat all Adversaries in a Joint Environment,” charging them to be ready to accomplish all tasks in line with the norms and core values of the Nigerian Army and continuous development.

He also enjoined all Army personnel not to engage in any form of illegal duties as this would not be tolerated in any form.

During his visit to the Land Component of Operation Delta Safe, General Attahiru promised to reward outstanding soldiers, but punish those found wanting.

He used the visit to perform the ground breaking for the reconstruction of 29 Battalion soldiers’ accommodation block which was razed down by fire some time ago.

Earlier during a courtesy visit, General Attahiru commended Governor Nyesom Wike, for his efforts at ensuring peace in the State.

He also commended Wike for his support to the 6 Division as well as his firm stance against all forms of criminalities and separatist groups in the State.

Wike congratulated the Army Chief on his appointment and expressed confidence in his capability to tackle the current security challenges facing the nation.

The Governor promised to continue to support the 6 Division and the Nigerian Army in general.
