General Magashi said when Chairman, Joint Chief of Staff of Pakistan, General Nadeem Raza, met with him at Ministry of Defence Headquarters Abuja that the current military campaigns by both countries are geared towards the attainment of the same goals of ending “the dastard acts of the perpetrators of violence extremism.”

The Defence Minister, who had his Company Commander training in Pakistan, said “the dynamic and sophisticated nature of the current threats to multinational territorial integrities by non-State actors call for joint offensive actions to neutralise condemnable regimes of the criminal elements.”

He therefore reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to leverage more on the over 40 years’ experience of Pakistan in dealing with common security challenges through technical exchange and capacity building.

The Chairman, Joint Chief of Staff, General Nadeem Raza, thanked the Minister for the audience which he said has provided a platform for setting new parameters for improved military cooperation between the two countries.
